Priorities

Workforce Development
Kitsap is experiencing a workforce crisis. Focused, collaborative workforce strategies are needed to repair broken systems across our economy.

Public Safety
Everything hinges on public safety. Nothing works if you don’t feel safe in your own community. We need to continue holding our law enforcement to high standards and accountability while supporting their work to protect and serve.

Managed Growth
Kitsap County is poised to see exponential growth in the coming years. We will need community-based solutions for sustainable growth and development that balances the natural environment and quality of life.

Housing Solutions
We are falling behind when it comes to meeting the demand for affordable housing. Creative solutions are needed to expand housing options for Kitsap families, for our workforce, our children, our veterans, and our seniors. A coordinated, comprehensive response is also needed to compassionately address the needs and challenges of Kitsap’s growing homeless population.

Transportation
From roads, transit, to technology, I want to make sure we are eliminating every barrier to employment by building out our infrastructure for those that travel to and from work, or work from home. Coordination is needed at the local, state, and federal level to keep Kitsap moving.

Natural & Cultural Resources
I support investing in, protecting, and expanding Kitsap’s valued natural, historical, and cultural resources. Our parks, open spaces, and civic centers support economic development, physical and mental well-being, as well as provide a sense of community and place.

Fiscal Responsibility
To meet these priorities, our community expects, and I plan to deliver, a transparent and inclusive, community-oriented budgeting process.
