Clean Up Kitsap
Have you noticed it’s getting to be a mess out on our roads? After a couple years of a pandemic, paused programs, and the elimination of Kitsap County’s inmate litter crew program, litter has become a noticeable problem along our roadways. Let's clean up Kitsap!
Contribute to a cleaner and healthier community by joining me Saturday, April 9th from 9am-1pm to clean the west stretch of Highway 3 between Newberry Hill and the Kitsap Mall heading north. (Weather permitting.)
• Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older and fully vaccinated.
• View the Adopt-a-Highway Safety Video
• Safety hat and vest will be provided. Please wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt, gloves, and thick-soled boots or shoes.
• Litter crew is limited to 12 people. If more sign up, we will schedule a second shift.
Other ways you can help:
• Pick up litter in your neighborhood! Taking the dog for a walk? Take a trash bag with you.
• Secure your load and make sure you don’t have any loose items in the back of your truck bed that may blow away.
• Gather a group of friends and adopt a stretch of State Highway or Kitsap County Road (Program currently paused)
